February 21, 2023 - Leaf Day. I chose this day as I didn’t want the fruit overly expressed as it had so much last time I tasted it. Today - virtually no evolution in the glass as expected - still ruby from core to rim. On the nose there’s smoke, earth, a bit of funk and red fruit with just a touch of herbs. The palate is ripe fruit but not overdone with a lovely savoury element slipping in now. On this day it’s drinking beautifully - soft on the palate and yet still showing fruit, savoury qualities and (for the first time) the granitic lick I so desire in a Cru Beaujolais. Delicious! And has years to go.
I want to kinda laugh as I managed to bring this wine into the last store I worked at - this wine is difficult to get in France let alone Canada - and because I’m not there to talk about it, it’s still available. I’ll be going back to get some more for sure. Such great value and just starting to show what J-M Burgaud is capable of creating.

4/7/23, 9:15 AM - For several yrs. have been a big fan of Burgaud's Bojo -- knows what he's doing & has a good future ahead. Hope he's around along time & his stuff keeps coming to the US -- I'm in.
