  March 19, 2023 - Elegant and discrete nose with mixed dark berries (dark plums, blackcurrants and dark cherries), some flowers and perfume, chalky and gravelly mineral notes and just a hint of leather and animal notes. The nose definitely developed (slowly) with air, initially it was quite closed and I only detected berries and some minerality. Medium bodied on the palate, very pure and elegant with berries, minerality, fresh acidity, somewhat prominent tannins and a long and fresh aftertaste. Very refined and elegant, sort of Burgundian and I guess true to the vintage character. Not much "funky" traditional Rioja character in evidence. This is going to need time to develop fully, and I want to revisit it, but in due course I think this will be a true beauty. 92+ pts.
