May 1, 2023 - Very Good+. It's early days for this one and I wish we'd have taken it into a second night to see it with more extended air. On PnP I was getting darker fruit and deeper tones, blackberry? - I know the wine is Grenache-driven, but scribbled down "Syrah, Counoise, & some Tannat?" - but after some time this gave way to a zesty red fruit dominant profile, revealing that top line Grenache at 44% (vs. Syrah 30%, Counoise 17%, Mourvedre 9%). It dips in the middle a bit and I expect that to fill out with time. Right now it is a very nice CdR style wine in fruit-centered style with only touches of herbal elements and little to know rustic edge.
This is really good and so drinkable with and without food. (It's a flexible food wine.)

5/2/23, 1:49 PM - 88 points for a lovely Cotes de Tablas? You are a stingy grader! A certain Italian judge would have this at least a 94. ;-)

(That said, it wouldn't surprise me to see this Tablas CdT head into the 90s with some bottle age.)
Some of my favorite wines are in the upper-80s. The B+ drinkers with class and character, but without the elements to make them truly excellent or outstanding.
