  April 17, 2023 - Südsteiermark Mini Tasting; 4/15/2023-4/18/2023 (Südsteiermark): *** For some unfathomable reason starting from 2020 this wine now has the word "Riff" appended to it. It's the same good old Grassnitzberg as before though. Something about appellation rules ***
  
  Salty, cool smell, medium bodied, acacia, floral. Very young still.

  4/8/24, 2:19 AM - Riff is an upgraded version. Something about a select parcel of Grassnitzberg The normal ried is still available for about 5 euros less. I have both in 2020.

  My first comment was correct. There is an 6-8 euro difference between the two.

So I had a long chat with them at the winery about this subject, they said all of their Grassnitzberg would be labelled as Riff as of 2020, they weren’t able to explain exactly why. I’ll try and get a better answer out of them next time. Do you have a reference for the 2020 without the Riff? I can’t find it on their website.
