May 10, 2023 - One hour decant by our host Agelvis, and it's really ready to go. Deep opaque ruby in the glass. Nose of chocolate malt, cassis and iron ore. Palate of dark red/black fruit, multi layered, and oh so balanced against the great acidic backbone and well integrated tannins. Wonderful spicy finish, maybe Chinese Five Spice? Good length to it, too. I really liked this wine and went back to it a few times throughout the 3 hours or so we were tasting. A challenger for the WOTN to some of us, and it was WOTN to others present. Another great bottle opened by our host, Ag!
