Dark ruby red..
Lotta heat on the nose, pepper, soy sauce, stewed fruit is very prominent, a bit over the top, lacking elegance, very in your face. Alcohol seems a bit much. Has that astringent nose that you hope blows off, but it doesn’t. Acid is very high. Obtuse mouthfeel. Unripe cherry. A bit of raisin Just really lacks a smoothness that more enjoyable California wines I enjoy have. My biggest issue is that this is not 100% cab, it is supposedly a Bordeaux blend, and if it was a proper blend then they should have been able to smooth out the flavor profile for this wine.
