July 11, 2023 - A truly great bottle. This 2015 was excellent, and came off as especially elegant and approachable in light of the vintage. At 12.5% alcohol, transparent ruby in the glass this has notes of red plum and capsicum. Its softened, polished tannins with minimal wood influence are just silky. This is a delight to drink now and should be great throughout its lifetime.

7/11/23, 11:46 PM - what have you heard was wrong with the 2015 vintage?

7/12/23, 5:33 AM - Not that anything was wrong with it, but in quite a warm/solar year, I’ve had other wines that come across as overripe, higher in alcohol, and in a sense, heavier. This wine was none of those things and it seems to me like Rougeard managed the conditions well. I edited my note for clarity.
