  July 7, 2023 - Of the SVD's from La Pelle, this one needs the most time. Not surprising given the cooler climate and general characteristic's of Coombsville. Nevertheless, this is a really fabulous wine.
  
  Showing lots of eucalyptus and herbal qualities, this is super firm with fruit that is hiding beneath strong tannins. At times the expression peeks out, only to be reigned back in. There are more mineral driven aspects to this wine vs its peers, and it is more BDX like with a hollow mid palate and dry finish at the moment. All the qualities are there for this to be excellent once the tannins recede some, so I would put it towards the back of the cellar and wait for it to come around. When it does, you will be very satisfied.
