May 26, 2009 - From the winery: Goats do Roam Red 2007
    Description:
VINEYARDS AND WINEMAKING: The grapes were harvested in February 2007 from vineyards in the Paarl, Perdeberg, Stellenbosch and Swartland regions. The vineyards that are used provide lower yields, resulting in wine with considerable concentration, yet still made in a fruit-forward, fresh and lively style. The various, predominantly Rhône varietals were harvested ripe and destalked before being fermented at 25 - 28°C. The 2007 vintage is a blend of primarily Shiraz with other varietals being used to achieve a style consistent with what Goats do Roam has become famous for. The wine is lightly oaked before being carefully blended and bottled.
TASTING NOTE: Vibrant ruby red colour. Rich red fruit aromas, with cloves and spiciness. Rich medium bodied style, with subtle oak influences and soft tannins. Fruit flavours follow through onto the palate with supple tannins and a rounded finish.
WINE OF ORIGIN: Coastal ALCOHOL: 14.11% RESIDUAL SUGAR: 3.1g/l TOTAL ACID: 5.8g/l pH: 3.57
    VARIETIES: Shiraz 40%, Pinotage 18%, Cinsault 17%, Carignan 13%, Mourvedre 10%, Gamay Noir 2%
