  August 19, 2023 - First one of these since mid-2021, and it's a lot more approachable now (big surprise). Initial impression was somewhat intrusive oak. After about an hour of air, the oak was less intrusive and had morphed into creosote (which I actually kinda like). A fairly "big" wine, but the tannins are not overbearing. Bigtime fruit on the palate and a very solid finish. Has several more years of useful life, and it's still a helluva bargain.
