September 1, 2023 - Pretty good showing. The bricked complexion and earthy aromatics show a good amount of development and primed me for an autumnal showing in the fashion of many 2008s of late, but this surprised me with denser, glossier fruit material than most still have to offer - plummy and not austere. The stem inclusion is still noticeable with its sapidity and pleasant snap of greenery. The remaining tannin actually feels fairly refined but it shows its Savigny rusticity in its earthy inflections. I don't know where this is going from here, but it certainly seems to have the opportunity for further improvement.
