  August 16, 2023 - This wine lives up to the hype. Full yet balanced. Great strawberry fruit, but restrained compared to some of the warmer Grenaches from elsewhere in Spain and in the Southern Rhone. Over a several day period (on Coravin) the wine added depth but remained quite balanced. I still long for that mind-blowing granitic experience when I first tried the Rocas 1ere in 2016 (took me back to young Rayas), which is not here -- this wine is somewhat more fruit-driven but still soil driven. The quality is superb. Definitely a wine to own in the cooler vintages and clearly that was the case in 2021
