June 26, 2022 - Lunch at Kitchen W8 (Kensginton, London): This was lovely. Different from, but every bit as good as the 2011 JL Trapet Charmes Chambertin that we had alongside. The nose here had a richer, lusher feel to it, with deeper aromas of red cherries and berries laced with spice and earth and mineral. A lovely, lush bouquet. The palate was really delicious too - with fine, powdery tannins and a nice amount of fresh acidity framing plush flavours of cherries and red berries, again seasoned with just that little touch of spice and earth at the finish. I thought the backpalate felt a little less full than the wine promised on entry, but otherwise this was an eminently drinkable wine, and showing quite nicely on the day. Lovely stuff.
