November 3, 2023 - Ruby with blue tinges. Crunchy berries - would mistake for Gamay (Fleurie or Chénas). Structured, firm, stony, like rain/Atlantic gusts on granite. Fresh and fruity, dry (but not drying), saline. Not bad but leaning towards generic Mencía. I'm looking for a more distinctive identity. Generally, and with apologies to the legendary and unaffordable La Faraona, Ribeira Sacra helps Mencía tell a more exciting story.
