November 17, 2023 - The prior negative reviews are accurate! There is something very wrong with this wine. Pure VA. I mistakenly thought I bought the Estate when I recently purchased this at auction. Had I accurately read the reviews I would not have wasted my money!

But for the record, Spottswoode only made one Cabernet bottling back in the day… So, this is the same as what today is called “Estate”. I think it has only been since the early 2000’s (2003 was the first with the new label, I think) that they started using that designation and added the Lyndhurst bottling. It is confusing, especially on CT since both show up with the identical databases.
I will have to open one of my 2 bottles very soon and see what I’ve got. I believe my previous bottles were fine but had them before I started taking CT notes consistently.
