March 28, 2009 - Decanted for over an hour. Lovely, ripe nose with cherry, berry, vanilla, smoke and cinnamon. This really drinks nicely now, though still on the young side. No over-extraction or burned/espresso tones (typical to the vintage). Fine, ripe tannins, oak, tar and later the ripe fruit came in. Black forest fruit, plum and mocha. Good acidity for the vintage, keeping this d'Aurilhac fresh. Mouth-filling, deep and with some complexity for the future. Long finish. I really liked this wine. Hold for a few more years for the best result! 90-91 points.
