November 24, 2023 - Brought this to dinner hoping it would be ready to pop and pour....it was ready...a little too ready in the sense that it had hardly any fruit, consisting instead of earthy flavors. The dinner group gravitated more toward the 2011 Produttori Asili initially. What this wine had going for it was it resolved tannins and mellow balance, and when it was paired with food, it actually brought out some fruit flavors in the wine and then the group started to drain the Einaudi while eating. I've only had this bottle since 2014 so its possible that it was not stored in ideal conditions for its first decade or it might be that this is now past prime. I really enjoyed this with the meal and would have continued drinking it after the meal had there been any wine remaining.
