December 17, 2023 - Criminally underrated vintage and Palmer is one of the wine of the vintage. I have and opened VCC 2004 and Palmer showed 1-2 points better. Needs short decant and opens up with nose of black and blue fruit, currants, cherry, barnyard and truffles, pipe tobacco and cedar, cloves and anise. Palate is very smooth, polished, with fine grained tannins and rich plums and blueberries with secondary notes. Finish is medium but great wine overall.
