January 9, 2024 - The nose was somewhat muted when I first opened it a couple of hours ago, but now it is a little more expressive. I think it is always beneficial to give these wines at least an hour after opening before enjoying them. Decanting is actually best.

The wine has an orange rim, but nice dark red color overall. Lots of blueberries, licorice, blackberries, cassis, olives and herbs de Provence.

While the tannins have softened and it is ready to enjoy, you definitely get the rusticity of this being a Bandol. But it lingers on the finish making it a great winter drink!
