  January 29, 2024 - Fruit Day - composite cork. Dark garnet core out to a medium crimson edge and thin watery rim. Nose is damp earth, wet leather, red and black fruit, spice and red florals. It’s an earthy, interesting and complex nose for such a young wine. On the palate it’s fresh and alive with slightly candied red and black fruit, some light leather and tobacco, a bit of smoke and light spice. The finish is medium in length with the fruit and spice continuing. Simple and gulpable but not nearly as interesting as the nose suggests. A good value though.
