February 4, 2024 - Nose: [58°] Gold pineapple flesh, a hint of orange peel and pith, and creamy fleshed pears. A fresh spring river with white flowers, golden honey, and wet and smooth stones scattered on the banks.

Palate: [58°] Intense honeyed pineapples that provide a prickly sensation on the palate. Handfuls of pulled grass creep up on the midpalate, followed by a gently spiced waxy note and gently saline minerals on the finish. There's a very subtle caramel/vanilla note that opens up on the midpalate as well. Thank goodness for the nice injection of acidity to keep things well lifted and not weighed down.

Attributes: Clean, pale gold. Dry with no detectable tannin. Medium-plus to full body with medium to medium-plus acidity. Good finish of at least 14-16 seconds.

Thoughts: Pleasantly surprised with this one. This wine has the acidity to thank for its freshness, because without it, this would've been heavy and close to cloying. Nice deep intensity while maintaining a nice swiftness. The fruit component in this carries well with the wine's bitterness and intensity. Also, seems nice to enjoy this now.. not sure if I would like the aged notes of this too much. Better at cooler temps.

Serving notes: Bordeaux glass. Served one glass and left bottle at cellar temp ~54° and consumed over 6.5 hours. Recommend serving ~54°-58° and decant as needed.
