February 14, 2024 - brief impression. 2023 disgorgement. hay color with fine mousse and active delicate fine bead. lemon and almond pastry nose. light bodied with high acidity and an exceptionally suave mouthfeel. really dances on the palate. flavors echo the nose with lemon rind and green apple on the finish. a top tier cuvée, my first experience with the maker and won’t be my last.

2/15/24, 1:58 PM - Thanks for the excellent TN. I only have three of these and have been planning to hold for a bit. But your note makes me think that I need to try at least one of them in the short term.

2/19/24, 9:52 PM - i'd encourage that this is ready to enjoy. i planned to wait longer based on reports leading me to believe agrapart leaned into the sharper side of champagne, but after tasting this bottle i think delicate is the more apt descriptor. georges laval and vincent couche would be somewhere in the ballpark.

2/20/24, 1:04 AM - Hi BPS. Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience with either Laval or with Couche. But I think you’re indicating that the sharper edges have softened and that’s helpful to know. The next time we’re reaching for champagne I will pop one of these. We don’t drink a lot of champagne and have tended to open either on special occasions or sometimes in lieu of cocktails. Recently, however, Ive come to appreciate its versatility with food pairings and find myself enjoying it more and more. Even so, my exposure is limited. I have these three Agrapart, two different cuvées of Laherte and two cuvées of La Rogerie. It’s a start. As you say in your profile, I, too, like to drink the rainbow! I’ve come across your TNs in the past and appreciate your perspective.
