  March 8, 2024 - L oustalet in gigondas, pairing with the truffle menu. The sommelier being a very nice person, and being a loyal customer, one gets proposed nice things, like this 1980 bottle. Took a good 5 minutes and considerable skills to get the bouchon out intact. Deep ruby color. Chocolate, mint, espresso, raspberry, white pepper, capsicum, beautiful nose. Med- acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, dry tannins and med finish. Medicinal mouth, Mediterranean herbs, mint, chocolate, still some fruits, white pepper, really still drinking well. Pairs perfectly with this subtle food. A nice day in Gigondas!
