March 16, 2024 - Opened and poured through the aerator and decided to give it an overnight. Much better on day two. Day one exhibited some harsh acidity, overbearing tannins and muted fruit. The nose has that grapey Shiraz blueberry and plum aroma. The color is about as purple as red wine gets. Not quite full bodied. Has a bit of Chilean clove and wet tree bark aroma and flavor. Still quite acidic and tannic. Boysenberry, licorice, graphite finish.
