Community Tasting Note

  • bsumoba Likes this wine: 98 points

March 17, 2024 - But, you can buy 5 for the price of 1...: Super pretty nose. Red fruits on the palate. A hint of toast and dark chocolate. Complex with a long finish. Most balanced of the 5 in the blind tasting. As good as it is and as good as the score I am going to give it, there is something about it after the reveal that makes me feel like this wine is made with the intention of pleasing people versus prioritizing the terroir and the vintage. Regardless, this was super consistent from pour and into the evening and enjoyable.

3/18/24, 7:50 PM - I dunno, making a 98-point wine that people like is not the worst thing in the world, even if the terroir is a little upset…😉

3/19/24, 7:45 AM - DQ - The Colgin might have been an off bottle. I tried it on day 2 and it was a tad better. My experience with Colgin is definitely not indicative of this particular bottle. In fact, Colgin's have always impressed me. I guess not every bottle statistically can be good.
