March 19, 2024 - Same note as previous: So much going on, as you might expect with a 40% Mourvèdre, 28% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 10% Counoise blend. Tantalizing dark fruit and so much more--baking spice, pepper, leather, a hint of tar. Long finish. Truly complex and sophisticated.

3/21/24, 4:56 AM - I have always found the 2013 vintage of Esprit subtle and fascinating, echoing your note. Recent CT notes find the wine either lackluster/over the hill or really terrific. Of course bottle variation and corks and storage conditions can result in a bad bottle. My experience is that maturing Mourvedre wines need air and a little time to wake up.
