March 31, 2024 - Dark garnet. Pronounced nose - plumb, cassis, liquorice, strawberry, liqueur cherry, chocolate, garrigue herbs, earth, cinnamon spice. Dry palate, medium acidity, med+ alcohol, chalky medium tannins, flavours not as pronounced as on the nose, med+ finish although I find the alcohol slightly sticks out. This is very good quality but not one for the long haul - based on these two bottles I’d suggest drinking by end of 2025. The fruit on the palate may be fading a little and it hasn’t taken on any more complexity recently. Enjoyable as always and, particularly if bought en primeur, relatively good value.
