Community Tasting Note

  • AGELVIS Likes this wine: 96 points

April 12, 2024 - Splash decant. Deep dark intense magenta color. Powdered boysenberry, black plum, river rock, violet, and brown spice. Very dry, gritty palate, with nice, pixelated acidity. Satiny tannins on the longish finish.

This was on of the surprise highlights from my recent trip to Napa. Score might be even higher with a legit decant.

4/15/24, 4:57 AM - Nice Jaime! Looks like Keplinger rolled out the red carpet for you! I actually am in Napa now (just for 2 days), and brought this wine to drink. I was thinking a 4 hour slo-ox on it, what do you think it needs to show best?

I just came from a tasting where we compared a bunch of 19 Napa wines (posting to come later). Most of the wines received 1 1/2 hours of air. Needless to say, even with the approachability of the 19 vintage, some were showing well and some were still a little tight, and all showed better as the night progressed. So I wouldn't mind a little guidance on how much air this wine should get to shine (splash decant and slo-ox in the bottle) and 5 of us following the wine for as long as it lasts (best guess 1-2 hours). Thank you in advance!
