  April 14, 2024 - This is the sort of California Chardonnay I like- reasonably rich, warm, full, and fun, without veering into cloying, oaky vanilla bomb territory. The color is nice and youthful on this nearly 10yr old wine under natural cork. On the nose- lemon custard, little bit of yellow peach and pineapple, a touch of cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla. The oak is there, is in the back seat relative to the fruit. In the mouth- medium full in body, a surprisingly zesty acidity. The oak on the palate precedes the fruit (opposite of the nose). But there are plenty of juicy fresh yellow fruit flavors. The finish is clean, lingers on the palate, no alcohol heat. This is lovely stuff, and while it will keep for a few years, I'd guess this is as good as it is going to get. Enjoy!
