April 24, 2024 - Pretty thin at this point. Very tight on opening but black fruits with a little bit of spice begin to emerge after an hour of decanting. Surprisingly acids and tannin still present and in balance. Day two the black fruit was a bit more pronounced as the acid receded. Tannin provided a nice backdrop for red meat, but the finish was pretty short. All in all not a bad bottle for 13 years old that probably wasn’t meant to age this long. Enjoy now.
