October 29, 2009 - Initially dominated by vanilla and spice, then after an hour or two an over-ripe scent of plump black cherries came to the fore, with a hint of black liquorice and mint leaf. Not much attack on the nose but with a pleasing, rounded, understated sexiness. Firm, tart palate with medium-weight tannins providing good structure. The promising integration of the oak bodes well for this wine and I feel it has still not reached its peak.
