November 18, 2009 - Decanted for 6 hours, tasted over 2 hours. I brought this to a tasting tonight of 11 rhone varietals from the 2006 vintage, this finished dead last, for good reason. The residual sugar is overwhelming and overpowers everything else in this wine. Syrup. I would love to think that this will integrate, but how on earth does this level of residual sugar integrate effectively in a dry wine? I hope that this occurance can be chalked up to bottle variation...
