January 8, 2010 - Medium brick core only fading slightly at the edges, but definitely showing some age. Right off the bat was a meaty, Italian spice shop component. With some air, this flattend out in the glass a bit. Extremely bright acidity initially, but this was also the first wine of the night. There is a pretty complexity to this wine, and my Cabernet and Syrah driven palate really appreciates the exposure and finess. Morel mushrooms emerge and are complemented by a seamless and silky palate. The tannins are present but balanced. Toward the end of the glass the initially high acids began to integrate. A great wine.
