February 21, 2010 - Blackberry, chocolate, cigar box and dark roses.Then a pronounced pine flavor kicks in and the chocolate note becomes more pronounced. Later it all comes together in a black forest cake note. The palate has this dense, greasy quality powered by the chocolate that I find in many of the higher end BC wines. This greasy chocolate palate is so far THE single most important feature, I have detected in the high end BC reds. It is definitely a really nice wine, but I do miss a little bit of that European "clarity".
