  March 10, 2010 - TN: I guess I prefer California Syrahs over the Rhone (and some other stuff): Purple in color, shimmering bright. The nose has a ton of oak, cocoa and black raspberries. On the palate, lots of tannins. Black raspberries and BIG tannins. Of all the wines, this seemed the most out of balanced. Will time help? I think so as I have enjoyed this wine in the past. It has some complexity. The group liked this much better than I (although no 1st place votes. By the end of the night, it did seem to come around a bit and my score went up a bit. Another wine that I think decanting would have helped.
