March 14, 2010 - With Pork shoulder roast (with Pears and Leeks, garlic/herb pesto, and mustard sauce). Clear ruby, no longer opaque but still bright. Nice nose, a little earthy and some cedar, but not overly perfumed. Mature, with integrated soft tannins and still some fruit, but the characteristic Zin signature had mellowed. Rich enough yet to stand up to the pork. Nice medium length. Mature now, and probably over its prime, but still an old friend and gentleman, come visiting for this meal, not ostentatious but certainly welcome.
