  April 11, 2010 - decanted 1 hour ..dark cherry red color..with light red/brick at edges...a somewhat hot nose of purple plum, black cherry, black raspberry,
  which markedly faded over the next hour or so..the mid palate is watery...with less fruit than one would expect from the nose..the tannins are still there...but there is not enough fruit to balance them..
  this wine is past whatever prime it had..I love Montelena...however, this disappoints
