April 16, 2010 - This is alright. On a different day it could probably seem better but today, for some reason, it seems kind of over-ripe and boring. A lot of oak but not super-over-oaked, though, which is a plus. The oak is mostly what you taste, though, because fruit is kind of . . .blah. I will give it 27 points on a scale of 5 to 48.

EDIT: Only 1 glass of this was consumed when the wine was opened. It was then left abandoned on the counter for 4 days. I finished it up tonight and it was quite a bit better than on day 1. Today, on day 4, it is much softer, more integrated and more focused. The overt oaky-ness is gone, replaced by a cocoa-tinged component. The fruit has a really nice cooked raspberry flavor. It is only just starting to fall apart - should've had it yesterday. Based on today, I would give it a 49 on a scale of 11 to 61.
