  April 17, 2010 - Brunello and Barolo: A Tale of Two Cities (Off the Vine Wine Storage Facility, Laguna Hills, CA): Decanted for 2 hours prior to tasting. Seems to be a more modern style than the last wine (Altesino BdM Montosoli '90). Much less browning color, but more brilliant. On the nose there is some chalkiness, with oak, mushroom, cedar, and dark berries. More fruit forward, but fairly thin on the mid-palate. Decent length though--quite persistent. Interesting nose, but less so on the palate. Well balanced acidity and still fairly astringent. (American owned winery.)
