April 29, 2010 - 1998 Burgundy Grand Crus - Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore, Chapitre de la Printemps (Harbour Grill, Hilton Hotel): This was pretty good. Best of the Chambertin flight actually. Lovely nose. Plenty of depth, with wafts of sous bois, sappy red fruit, wilted flowers, some herbs, spice and whiffs of smoke. Palate was round and juicy, with clean acid running through sappy fruit notes, stewed cherry flavours and mineral and spice inflections. Finish was longish and very fresh, with lingers of orange peel and hints of mint. Again, maybe not the most complex of wines, but I did enjoy this. It should get there with time.
