June 29, 2010 - Excellent cork condition. Beautiful deep red and translucent but no browning bodes well forthis 18 year old wine. Not fruit forward but rather a solid core of dark fruit lingers with fine tannins. Balanced with a persistent finish. Excellent muthfeel with a refined texture and weightlessness on the palate. Somewhat primary without significant secondary complexity. Really drinking beautifully and exceeded my expectations. Gentle and refined, this could pair almost any meat dish because of its impeccable restraint. A classic Napa cab from what I think is the sweet spot of Cali winemaking in the early 1990s before the cult crazy era. Gorgeous. Plenty of life left but at peak now so drink anytime.
