January 1, 2008 - Lovely limpid cherry/ruby, softened by age but still fresh looking. Very narrow paler rim shows just a hint of orange. Nose is mature, yet full and meaty. There is a touch of orange peel and leafmould and a full plummy fruit. Robust, rustic and mature. Mouth entry is sweet and full with broad ripe fruit and a good tingling acidity. Fills nicely and shows its earthy character on the mid-palate, but still beautifully fresh. Finish is long, with great balance of fruit, tannic structure and acidity. Drinks nicely now but will still keep. ***
