  September 7, 2010 - I didn't think much of this wine when purchased at the tasting room, and not a whole lot changed. To be honest, probably could have used another year or two to lay down as the oak and tannin was still a little overpowering. Though I'm not sure the fruit was ever going to come through on this one. Dark purple with aromas of cigar box, vanilla, and graphite. Not much coming through on the palate but some dark berries. Finish was a bit tight, with some tannins gripping lightly. Overall, just not that expressive and somewhat heavy.
