Community Tasting Note

September 30, 2010 - I knew from the start that we were drinking this wine too young. But I have a few bottles, and I like to see how wine progresses. At first its tannins, as expected were very strong, but not overwhelming. As the night went on they really smoothed out. We always spend serious time swirling and sniffing and I could have just smelled this all night. Dark fruits and spice notes. The tasting was rewarded with powerful fruits, chocolate and definitely a licorice flavor. Great, but I will wait at least five more years until opening another bottle.

4/7/11, 5:02 PM - I agree, tannin for me in this wine is definitely big, but it's ripe and velvety so it really doesn't hurt a lot... I admire your patience man, 'cause with fine wines like this, it is really difficult for me to keep my hands off them...haha.
