  October 30, 2010 - About 3 years ago, I had my first of 2 bottles of the 01 Mercury Head. I walked away from the experience saying that was my benchmark for a great CA Cab.
  
  I shared the 2nd bottle with friends at a birthday party and it was the hands down WOTN. While it drew rave reviews, I do feel that it either there is some bottle variation, or the wine is slightly past it's peak. It was a great bottle, but not quite the experience as the 1st bottle 3 years ago.
