December 11, 2010 - nose: nicely balanced and restrained nose of dark cherries, asian spices, cracked peppercorns, licorice and a touch of dark berries and florals
taste: excellent medium body with good supporting tannins and medium acidity with balanced tones of dark cherries, asian spices, dark florals, berries and some black pepper as well
overall: This doesn't have the weight that a lot of CdPs normally have. It does bring some very good aromatics that need a bit of time to come together and has a more dark profile then I expected. An interesting contrast to many of the 07s, but this doesn't seem like a wine that needs to be sought out like some of the 06s are. With that said, it took about 3 hrs to really come together and show off a lot more complexity on the nose and depth on the palate that really show what it can do. The tannins are still firm and this could definitely use 2 years to soften up1 person found this helpful 6,339 views

4/7/11, 5:08 PM - definitely much lighter in style than I would like to see in a CdP..
