January 17, 2011 - Light straw color, no sherry / oxidative notes, we're in business. Delicate but intriguing nose is more than happy to deliver the ever popular Chablis notes of rich shellfish wrapped in mix of flint, fresh citrus, and minerals. Late note of spearmint adds further dimension. Whether it is a product of a warmer vintage or the deliberate use of oak, no doubt this is correctley labled a "rich" wine, maybe 'fat' if you want to take a negative slant, but I was very impressed with how it stayed light on its feet from a palate weight standpoint, and was clean and precise on the finish. I think this is drinking well now, sure it can hold, but not sure what would be gained by cellaring for more than 4 to 5 years.
