  December 31, 2010 - Deep, dark, garnet color; nice forward nose of dark raspberries, red current, touch of toasty oak - shading of spice vanilla. Lots of flavors and aromas brought out by by the oak cask. Dry medium palate; with lots of breathing room and interaction with the tannins, flavors of bitter dark chocolate and tart dark cherries evolve along with the red current fruit and cask toasty vanilla spice. Medium finish with decent acidity. Interesting old world take on merlot. Very good QPR.
