  February 16, 2011 - As more and more California pinot noir producers are finally coaxing greatness out of this noble varietal and out of very specific terroirs up and down the coast, California pinots like this will fade. Dark in color but thin and weak on the palate. Oak and strawberry, maybe a hint of cola but not much else. I couldn't distinguish this from a Valley grown over oaked Merlot really. It drinks very smooth and is refreshing, eminately drinkable, but that makes it no different from much of the red wine made in California. My tastes may have just evolved. Blame the likes of Rhys I suppose.
