March 5, 2011 - Had the chance to visit this winery on my recent trip to Napa Valley. They are making some great stuff at Larkmead and this wine/vintage is no exception. Consumed this bottle over two consecutive nights and it actually was better on day #2. Great balance of tannins, dark fruit, light oak, and seemingly low alcohol. Moderate to long length made this a nice sipping wine. Interestingly, day #1 revealed a less complex, even "light" wine. But, by day #2, the wine seemed bolder and full bodied (after day #1, I vacuum sealed and put in fridge). If drinking this soon, I would recommend a good 2+ hour decant to let this wine reveal its real beauty.
